Son of renowned photographer and mountaineer Galen Rowell, instructor Tony Rowell found himself immersed in his father’s work from a young age, traveling with him to wilderness areas in Alaska, Canada and the American West. Tony’s most memorable adventures with his father include an ascent of Yosemite's Cathedral Peak at the age of 10, a 1983 climb of the Grand Tetons and a 1997 photography trip to Canada’s Northwest Territories. Tony’s photography expeditions have taken him from the Arctic Circle to the mountains of Tibet. His award-winning photos have appeared in books, calendars and in Astronomy, Backpacker, Nature’s Best Photography and Outdoor Photographer magazines.
